All-Year Travel Resort

Sappee is a versatile travel destination that keeps the whole family busy with its extensive selection of things to see and do all year round. Thanks to its welcoming atmosphere and services that can be tailored to meet the needs of each individual customer, Sappee has already won the award for Ski Resort of the Year three times, and in 2012 it was also chosen as the Finnish Travel Company of the Year. Sappee Ski School was Ski School of the Year in 2021 and Sappee Bike Park was Bike Park of the Year in 2021!

All of Sappee’s services, including accommodation, restaurants, ticket office and ski equipment rental, are located on the top of the slopes amidst beautiful scenery. Sappee is ideally located only 50km from Tampere, 160km from Helsinki, 65km from Hämeenlinna and 180km from Turku.

Slopes and activities for all

With its versatile slopes that are always kept in great condition, Sappee is an excellent winter sports resort for snowboarders and slalom skiers alike. There are 13 slopes altogether that are lit and always in good, well-maintained condition. The vertical drop is 120 metres and the longest slope 850 metres long. Some of the slopes are easy and perfect for children and beginners. There are also intermediate and more challenging slopes suitable for those who have already mastered the basic skills of skiing or snowboarding.

Sappee’s Family Park area is a crowd favourite amongst children and beginners. With its 4 very easy slopes, a sledding hill, 2 carpet lifts and 2 button lifts, this area is perfect for starting out.

Children’s Funslope has turned out to become a kids’ favourite. It offers brave skiers the possibility to try out their skills on the curves and jumps of an exciting cross-track. After gaining experience and learning a few new tricks, check out the bigger cross track on the Kalle slope, where even the older and more experienced skiers will be able to challenge themselves.

Be sure to also check out Alpine Adventure, a kids’ slope that travels through the forest and lets you experiment with the various different alpine skiing disciplines. You’ll find Alpine Adventure next to Mutkamäki near the family slope.

The SnowPark area, which is especially popular amongst our younger skiers, is constructed during the winter with the help of experts and snow park connoisseurs. Located next to the cross track, the Mini Street offers easier skiing for beginners, and the Iso (Big) Street is where you will find more challenging rails and boxes. SnowPark is also the location for the toughest and most exciting competitions of the winter season.

Skiing is, however, not the only thing you can do at Sappee during the winter. There are also 14 kilometres of maintained cross-country ski tracks which are ready for skiing as soon as there is enough natural snow on the ground. Unfortunately the tracks are not lit. There are lean-tos along the cross-country tracks where you can stop for a breather, make a fire and for example capture the essence of being Finnish by frying sausages on a stick.

The ski school offers an expert introduction into the worlds or skiing, snowboarding or telemark skiing. It is also a good idea to book a ski school lesson if you want to refresh your memories or hone your skills with a qualified instructor giving you invaluable tips.

Sappee Equipment Rental has high-quality equipment to meet the needs of each and every customer. There are skis and snowboards for young and older alike. You can also get your own ski equipment serviced.
